ComfyUI vs Credit-Based AI Platforms: AI Uncensored's Internal Cost and Consistency Benchmark
This benchmark reports AI Uncensored's internal operating observations from more than 1,000 ComfyUI generations and more than 1,000 generations on credit-based hosted services, comparing cost, usable-output rate, character consistency and video production.

1. Cost
Local ComfyUI
ComfyUI itself is free software. Running locally there is no per-generation software charge, but electricity and hardware costs still exist, so local generation is not zero cost.
Rented GPU infrastructure
AI Uncensored reports typical rented GPU costs of approximately $0.80-$1.00 per GPU hour depending on hardware and provider, and reports producing 500+ images in approximately one GPU hour under suitable image-generation workloads.
Credit-based platforms
The credit-based platforms tested have commonly cost around $50 per month, with credit allowances sometimes equivalent to roughly 100 generations depending on platform and settings.
2. Usable output rate

"Usable" means an output the operator considers good enough to publish or deliver as paid creator content without regenerating it because of a major identity or quality failure.
3. Character consistency
Consistency is evaluated against face, body, apparent age, hair, distinguishing features and overall character identity.
In AI Uncensored's internal testing, some credit-based services failed its character-consistency criteria in a large proportion of generations - approximately 80% of attempts on the services concerned. This is an internal observation about the services tested under our own criteria; it is not a claim that all hosted platforms fail at that rate, and we do not attach a specific failure percentage to a named provider without provider-specific logged evidence.
4. Video production
Under appropriate hardware and settings, AI Uncensored reports its current workflow producing approximately a 40-second video at around 30 FPS with sound in approximately one minute of generation time. Duration can be traded for frame rate - for example approximately 40 seconds at around 30 FPS, or approximately 20 seconds at around 60 FPS. Image and video workflows can target outputs up to 4K through the production and upscaling pipeline.
These figures are not universal. Performance depends on GPU, model, resolution, frame count and workflow complexity, and not every GPU or model reaches them.

Workflow control
The structural advantage AI Uncensored identifies in ComfyUI is direct workflow control. The internal workflow can deliberately control or prompt for lighting, camera angle, location, pose, appearance, scene and identity. AI Uncensored may also use language models such as Grok to help write prompts tailored to the specific underlying generation model.
Credit-based hosted services may abstract or hide their model and workflow details, which reduces the operator's ability to tailor prompts to the underlying model. This is a workflow-control argument, not a claim that hosted platforms offer no control.
Services tested
AI Uncensored has tested credit-based services including Xmode, and found that the tested outputs frequently failed its internal usability or identity-consistency standards. We publish no exact provider-specific usable-output percentage, because that would require a documented per-provider test log we have not yet published.
Why output quality matters commercially
AI Uncensored considers output quality particularly important for paid fan content because customers expect the delivered material to match the advertised character and quality. We make no causal claim linking any platform to chargebacks; quality and payment disputes are treated as separate questions unless specific data establishes a relationship.
Proprietary workflow
AI Uncensored's specific ComfyUI workflow, model selection, LoRAs, nodes, prompt structures and automation are proprietary mentorship material and are not disclosed in this benchmark. The workflow has taken several months to develop and continues to be updated as new AI models become available.
Current conclusion
Across our own testing, the internal ComfyUI workflow delivered lower marginal generation cost, no fixed credit ceiling, higher reported usable-output rates and stronger identity consistency than the credit-based services we tested. That conclusion is scoped to the services we tested, under our criteria, at the time we tested them. *Evidence level: interpretation of internal data.*
